Daniel Ward
Our rider profile for this week is Daniel Ward. he first got into cycling after the 2011 Earthquakes after experiencing traffic problems, Daniel decided to dust off his old road bike for his daily commute.
After a few years of casual cycling Daniel decided to begin racing competitively about 5 years ago, and he will be competing in his fourth Winter Worlds this year.
He started out racing in C grade but moved up to B grade because he feels like he gets more out of it for the effort he puts in. Competing in the Winter Worlds and being part of the community gives Daniel more incentive to achieve his fitness/cycling goals.
Daniel loves competing in the Winter Worlds because it’s a great way for him to keep up the racing during the winter months so he can stay fit for summer racing. Daniel also loves Winter Worlds because even though it’s hard racing in tough weather, everybody is out there getting into it and having a good time, as well as the camaraderie of the racing. .
