Race report for Round 9.


The final points race for the Winter Worlds 2024 was held this past Sunday on the classic course. With a brisk northeast wind making for a fast start, nearly 100 riders showed up to compete across various grades, embodying the toughness and resilience our series is known for.


The Development field displayed commendable aggression, racing the entire 12 km course and showing increased participation week by week. The B grade was neutralised due to an incident, but spirits remained high, showcasing the camaraderie and sportsmanship of our community.

This year’s series was notable for its mild weather compared to the frosts and snow of 20 years ago, with only a couple of minor incidents throughout the season it has to be one of the safest racing I've seen for years. The dedication and spirit of all participants, volunteers, and supporters made this a memorable season.
